Meet the tradies - Firefish Fabrication

Firefish Fabrication, who are mild steel, alloy, and stainless steel specialists, are one of Gulf Harbour Marina’s newest small businesses. They are located behind Brin Wilsons, at 779 Laurie Southwick Parade.

Led by Steve Burton, a fabricator-welder of 25 years, this small but thriving workshop moved into the marina in early 2022.They have an unwavering commitment to finding innovative, yet practical, solutions for local boaties, then delivering those concepts into the highest quality marine hardware that stands the test of time and the harsh environment.

Steve has an extensive background in marine stainless fabrication, starting his tenure as a fabricator when he left school. It was there where he crafted stainless hardware for pleasure craft giants Rayglass and Seacraft - this was followed by high-end super-yacht builds and refits at the Westhaven Marina.

While marine has, and will always be, a passion for Steve and his team, in 2016 he was given the opportunity to sink his teeth into large commercial projects and residential projects – particularly balustrades and bespoke home features - and even clock towers.

Recently, the team have noticed a growing demand for davit systems, solar canopies and high-spec custom bait boards with BBQ integrations, along with the always popular rod racks and rocket launchers, exhaust systems, ladders and staples. Whatever project you have in mind, contact the team for a chat to discuss your options.

In addition to servicing the local boating industry, Firefish Fabrication are always delighted to service Coasties with any metalworking needs around their homes including handrails, pool rails, gate panels, lighting features and shelving.

Firefish Fabrication have also done steel works around the Fairway Bay Marina, in particular the stainless steel fire hose stands in the new inner marina expansion. They are a well-respected and very friendly team in the Gulf Harbour area. We highly recommend them for any metal work you may need.
