The marina expansion is taking shape and nearing completion in time for Christmas. The 'official' opening date is December 9th, however with so much to do, this date is a challenge, but very likely. We will be celebrating the occasion with a morning tea on board Lady Grey for the amazing trades people who have worked tirelessly to get the expansion completed.
Feedback on the new marina expansion from the surrounding community and passersby has been very positive, which is helpful to all concerned.
Marina Bridge
The old marina bridge (pictured above) is getting dismantled and removed next Monday December 3rd. This means berth holders along the northern side of the marina will need to walk the parameter of the inner marina to exit and enter the marina until the north eastern gangway is installed. Unfortunately due to genuine material shortages (16 m aluminium lengths), this new gangway, leading up to the new north eastern car park, will not be installed and complete until mid to late January.
All our trades people have been made aware berth holders will be using the inner marina parameter walkway and to keep tools and materials out of harms way and neat and tidy.
Meanwhile, the installation of water and power supply to the pedestals is the the current focus, and in the background the barge and crane unit is finishing aligning and sleeving the piles.
